I am the proud father of two wonderful children. Both are unique and both give me a great sense of purpose. The younger of the two was born with a very rare genetic syndrome. Her life will always have challenges but, as a family, we will always be there for her. Her name is Annie.

Through countless doctor appointments and hospital visits with Annie, my partner and I began to realise that the parents, families and carers of these courageous, loving and vibrant children also have another essential responsibility: their own health and wellbeing, which is very often the last thing on their minds.

Annie’s ongoing challenges have renewed in me a sense of purpose. For the last three years I’ve been working on how to best express this impetus and, with the help and understanding of several good friends, we achieved charitable status in early 2020 for Who Cares UK.

It is my belief, and that of the charity, that for parents and carers to be the very best for their children, they must be the very best they can be in themselves. This is where Who Cares UK comes in.

Simply stated, the charity exists to protect and preserve the health and wellbeing of parents, families and carers of disabled, severely ill or terminally ill children, who are looking to alleviate issues that may arise from their caring roles.
